Who may apply for a scholarship?

Independence Area Dollars for Scholars believes all students should have the opportunity to continue their education after graduation from high school. All students who will be receiving a diploma from the Independence Community School District are eligible to apply for scholarships.

How are scholarships awarded?

By completing a student profile online, students become eligible for Independence Area Dollars for Scholars awards. An awards committee will score anonymously the applicants on work experience, school and community activities and academic record. 

How to claim your scholarship money:

After your scholarship(s) are awarded, you must accept your scholarships using your account in the ChapterNet system.

Then, after you have completed one semester at the school you are attending, please send a copy of your official transcript, unofficial transcript, or grades along with current college and the address of their Billing Office to:

Class of 2022:   You have until January 15, 2024 to claim your scholarship money.

Class of 2023:   You have until January 15, 2025 to claim your scholarship money.
